Even though it's a provincial capital, Trat city is a sleepy little town where everyone still knows everyone and the majority of the population is in bed by 22:00. Trat is therefore not the best location for those looking for lot's of entertainment, but it is an ideal location to spend a (or two) nights before you head of to the tropical islands of Koh Kood, Koh Mak or Koh Wai. Accommodations are cheap, as are the restaurants and the bigger hotel(s) will have availability year round, except on 1 or 2 days before New Years and Songkran.
